My name is Derrick Budden and I have lived in Inglewood for more than 10 years.  My passion for cycling began in 1998 when I started working as a Bicycle Mechanic at Valley Stove & Cycle in Wolfville, NS.  During my two years there I was trained by a master mechanic from Essex, England, Kieran O'Malley.  Kieran not only passed on his knowledge, but also passed on his passion for cycling.  Since those early days I have continued to refine my mechanical skills and my enthusiasm for cycling.

After leaving Wolfville, I attended the University of New Brunswick graduating with an B.Sc in Engineering and moved to Calgary to ski and bike in the Rocky Mountains. Since moving to Calgary my interest in cycling has greatly expended to include road, cross, and mountain racing, as well as to extensive self supported cycle touring.  My wife and I have cycling across Canada, Northern Europe, the Pacific Coast, and most recently around the southern coast of Nova Scotia. In addition to racing and touring I have commuted year-round for 15 years and ride the local mountain bike trails weekly.

My experience in bike service has been ongoing for the last 22 years for friends and family, and I now have the time to expand this service to the larger community. My passion for cycling, both technical and physical, is what continues to drive me today.
